About CCST

Our Mission

“God’s world is a world where everyone feels responsible for the other, for the good of the other.  This evening, in reflection, fasting and prayer, each of us deep down should ask ourselves: Is this really the world that I desire? Is this really the world that we all carry in our hearts? Is the world that we want really a world of harmony and peace, in ourselves, in our relations with others, in families, in cities, in and between nations?”

Pope Francis, Sept. 7, 2013

Our History

"Aid means giving from what one has to alleviate another's suffering; that is good, necessary and urgent...but solidarity goes further...Solidarity means not only giving but self-giving."
-Jesuit theologian Jon Sobrino

CCST Financial Information

It is true that nowadays, to some extent, everyone, including our young people, feels attracted by the many idols which take the place of God and appear to offer hope: money, success, power, pleasure. What We Do Overseas

"The glory of God is that the poor may live."   - Archbishop Oscar Romero

The Catholic Charities Solidarity Team actively relates to church partners and projects in two countries: Guatemala and the Philippines.  As of the summer of 2014, we are in conversation about developing ongoing programming in Kenya.

What We Do Locally

“Concern for our neighbour transcends the confines of national communities and has increasingly broadened its horizon to the whole world.”   Pope Benedict XVI, Deus Caritas Est.

Catholic Charities Solidarity Team strives to serve Metuchen Catholics through the following faith-in-action areas:
